Direct Response Copywriter
Who we are:
Basepaws is a pet health company specializing in the use of genomics for the development of health screening tools for pets. We work at the intersection of molecular biology, genetics, and veterinary science to bring innovation to the field of companion animal preventive care. Currently, our product portfolio includes genetic testing as well as oral microbiome profiling.
Who you are:
A strategic Direct Response Marketing Copywriter with 5+ years of experience with brand messaging, focusing on product descriptions, writing blogs, one-pagers, website copy, and/or other marketing-related content such as banners, headers, and copy pages.
We are looking for someone who can write persuasive copy to help boost content efficiency. If you love writing a results-driven copy that guarantees results, this is a great role for you. If you are also passionate about pets, this role is perfect (purrfect!).
This role is a part-time, remote role that can quickly move into full-time for the right person.
What we need (Required):
- Minimum 5+ years of copywriting experience with digital brands, working at a DTC/D2C/e-commerce company or agency
- A strong focus on copy that drives conversions and sales.
- Previous experience working with DTC/e-commerce companies within pet health or products, health + wellness, cosmetics, CPG, fashion apparel, and other relevant industries
- Ability to think conceptually with a passion for branding, storytelling, and producing engaging content and campaigns
- Comfortable writing across a variety of digital channels with proven experience writing for performance channels including email, landing pages, and paid ads
- An understanding of how and when to write emotional consumer-facing copy and quick conversion driving copy
- Ability to write about scientific discoveries and concepts in a blog-style format intended for pet owners (our consumers)
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work with Marketing on ad campaigns and merchandising.
As part of our screening process, you will be asked to submit writing samples. Hourly pay based on experience.
