The Role

As the Director of Content Creation you will be an experienced storyteller that is excited to create meaningful content within the context of our business strategy and marketing vision. From ideating stories for promotional videos to creating compelling newsletters and blogs, you will ensure that content is delivered on time, on budget and on message. Expertise in creating compelling digital video content in particular will be critical to this role.

 

You will be leading content production from end to end to produce thoughtful stories that drive awareness, engagement, retention, leads and positive audience behaviors. You are both a creative storyteller as well as a data-driven marketer who is skilled at delivering brand building and conversion-focused content across many channels inclusive of but not limited to web, social, newsletters and experiential.

 

This is an integral role within the Marketing department reporting directly to the CMO with cross-functional responsibilities to the Director of Digital Marketing. To support you in the role, you have a Senior Copywriter and Senior Art Director as direct reports.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Strategy: Build, own, and optimize the content marketing strategy and execution across website, social media and email marketing
  • Content Calendar: Create and deliver against an editorial calendar that meets the needs of multiple stakeholders at all stages of the journey - from awareness to consideration, to loyalty. Assign channel roles across email marketing, web, social to ensure each is unique and dials back to the bigger picture
  • Assets: Concept, ideate and develop videos, graphics, and photography needs in each channel. (Video will be critical to this role inclusive of scripting, and producing. Photoshoots inclusive of staging and shooting)
  • Collaboration: Foster relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure that we are delivering against asks while creating an environment that allows for innovation
  • Partner with the Director of Digital Marketing
  • Create content for all digital to amplify our message, drive organic discovery, improve SEO and lead to conversion, with approval on copy from our Copywriter
  • Create content for monthly/weekly newsletters to drive retention and engagement
  • Partner with Social Media Manager
  • Create social media content across IG, Twitter and Tik Tok, and LinkedIn
  • Create social ads that lead to conversion
  • Leverage influencer relationships for key content campaigns
  • Budget: Own and manage content team budget and resourcing strategy
  • Analytics: Own the KPIs, and full-funnel report suite (dashboards/reports)
  • Best Practices: Develop departmental standards and systems for content creation, evaluation, and repurposing, including real-time implementation

 

Requirements

  • 10 +years of content creation experience with a passion for purpose-driven brands
  • Experience in leading content marketing strategy, preferably in DTC with a mixture of Tech, CPG and Editorial experience
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator and After Effects
  • An exciting portfolio that showcases range of work
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, self-directed, detail oriented and collaborative attitude
  • Strong prioritization skills with high-level of independence at work
  • Basic understanding of how video impacts SEO
  • Solid analytical skills and experience using data in both storytelling and data-driven decision making
  • Effective, clear, and concise verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work with other team members in a remote capacity
