About the job

Who we are

Wandering Bear (wanderingbearcoffee.com) offers extra strong, surprisingly smooth, conveniently and sustainably packaged organic coffee that’s always fresh and easy to enjoy – however you take your caffeine. Our products are built for customization of the at-home coffee occasion, and we are a leader in multi-serve cold brew.

We’re a high-growth, private-equity funded company. We have been in operation since 2014 and over that time have scaled the business from a small brewhouse in Queens, NY to a nationally distributed brand sold in all 50 states. Over the past year and a half our sales mix has shifted aggressively towards e-Commerce. Our direct website, Amazon store and wholesale eCommerce customers now account for 80% of sales and grew 400% in 2021. Additionally, our products are available across the country in stores such as Whole Foods and Kroger.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a creative and results-driven steward of our brand across all organic social media channels, with a specific focus on Instagram and TikTok. This role will report directly to our Brand Director and will have responsibilities across all our organic social media and community engagement via those channels.

This individual ideally has past social media marketing experience (internships or experience through your personal social media handle counts!) for a direct-to-consumer, digitally native brand, whether internally or at a leading digital agency. This candidate has experience building content calendars for social media, creating and curating content and managing social engagement across platforms. As a digital-native, this individual is quick to identify opportunities and trends for our brand to expand its digital presence to reach more of our consumers where they are spending their time and attention.

This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere. Because we are a remote team, proactivity, accountability and (over)communication are critical and should be second nature.

Your impact

  • Work with the Brand Director to develop a cross-platform social media strategy, helping to further craft how our brand comes to life across social media
  • Manage and oversee the social content calendar, ensuring it ladders up to marketing + business objectives; organize content, program and schedule posts across platforms
  • Enthused to create channel native content for the brand as needed (i.e., excited to create content yourself and super comfortable being the face of Wandering Bear on social)
  • Real-time monitoring of social channels to identify strategic opportunities and flag potential issues
  • Manage ‘community’ on all social channels; engage with consumers via messages, comments, likes on the brand's behalf and in brand voice
  • Identify, source and develop your own UGC-style content to support content needs and capitalize on platform trends
  • Provide monthly reports and analytics on effectiveness of all social media platforms
  • Stay up to date on trending content, conversations, cultural events, social media best practices, and competitive activity to adapt and optimize Wandering Bear’s strategy
  • Serve as the #2 “on call” to support our Customer Service team to ensure we’re delivering 10-star customer service and staying on top of paid ad commentary during peak season

Who You Are

Requirements

  • Creative, social-savvy storyteller with analytical acumen to translate trends into action
  • 1+ years of experience in social media marketing at a brand or agency, with a natural understanding of social media from personal experience; experience with DTC and/or start-up is a plus
  • Experience owning/managing a content calendar, driving social media strategy and execution, and reporting on performance
  • Deep understanding of engagement in social media trends and pop culture
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas, changing course as needed
  • Desire to roll up sleeves and help wherever is necessary; someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills—you are able to connect with others to understand their specific needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Benefits

  • Great people who bring themselves to work, work hard and have fun
  • Competitive Base Salary + Bonus
  • Company Health, Dental, Vision and 401k plan
  • 100% flexible work location and home-office stipend
  • Great product that you’ll be proud to sell
  • As much extra strong coffee as you can drink
