Wild Alaskan Company is seeking a full-time Designer to grow our brilliant and creative team. A lover of fonts, kerning, shapes, UI design systems, padding, packaging, and well-labeled artboards, you also understand the intricacies of pairing copy with images for the right impact. As a designer, you are hungry to discover problems, brainstorm and deliver pixel perfect work. To be successful in this position, you must have a solid understanding of design principles and working knowledge of motion design, email design, UI best practices, digital advertising and social media.

About the Role:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Play an active role in brainstorming to develop assets that will elevate the brand and hit marketing KPIs
  • Develop new email creative to test for CRM initiatives that is UI responsive
  • Develop new creative for social media, both paid and organic
  • Develop new motion graphics and animations for performance advertising campaigns
  • Develop landing pages using CMS platforms like Webflow, Unbounce or Wordpress
  • Implement feedback from the Creative Director and other stakeholders to execute final work
  • Produce finished creative and artwork for production and/or placement by ensuring that all creative material is provided in the correct format for publication, including, but not limited to, file preparation and output, prepress, and printing
  • Execute in a variety of formats/channels, including: banner ads, landing pages, microsites, social media posts, email, presentations, direct mailers, illustrations, infographics, digital/interactive, advertising, print design, video editing, and motion graphics
  • Provide general assistance with miscellaneous design tasks for the marketing team and other departments
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Hyper-organized, with a proven ability to achieve results on time, communicating progress along the way
  • Critical thinker, proactively thinking about and implementing ways to ease creative processes for all parties
  • Ability to manage a strict timeline and make sure projects are completed in a timely fashion
  • Strong time management skills, manage time effectively and establish priorities while maintaining a level of flexibility in light of new feedback or change in direction
  • Thoughtful and detail-oriented, consistently demonstrating a clean and sophisticated aesthetic
  • Thorough and proven understanding of digital design, grid systems, illustration, motion graphics, typography, photography and/or basics of copywriting
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Willingness to learn, grown, and implement own ideas and opinions into creative to evolve the company
  • General knowledge on responsive design
  • Great sensibility for UI design for email and landing pages
  • Flawless attention to detail

Nice-to-Haves

  • Photo/video editing experience
  • Prior experience with a fast growing start-up
  • Expertise in seafood, DTC, and/or eCommerce
  • Past employment in food

 

The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 - $80,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Wild Alaskan’s benefits package includes health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401k, 10 company holidays, safe/sick time, vacation, parental leave and more, as well as a delicious box of free fish every month.
