ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a modern marketer with a superpower in brand management to be at the helm of stewarding all aspects of the Happy Money brand. We want to be known as a world-class marketing organization. We want our marketing to be the driver of future business success and the envy of our industry. We have been building the foundation: a growing creative team, a brand on a mission, a differentiated product that outperforms the competition, and a business that wants to create an irrational level of happiness amongst consumers. The Sr Director, Brand and Integrated Marketing will serve as a key business leader who deftly marries the art and science of brand building and management, -- architecting strategy, plans, stories, and experiences that move people and the business. A unique opportunity with this role is introducing the Happy Money brand not only to consumers (our DTC business which is at the heart of our mission), but also to the role our brand plays in B2B marketing (like our robust group of Credit Union partners) and launching the Happy Money API business (think marketing as a service and winning over the developer audience). This leader will partner with internal/external resources to develop and execute integrated marketing programs that ensure consistency, growth, and relevance across the organization.

You want the ownership of the full ecosystem and end-to-end marketing. Who’s in it with you? Your partners in magic and marketing integration - Growth Marketing, Creative, Comms and Marketing Analytics; Xfunctional partners - Product, Partnerships, Strategy Data Science, Finance. and more to deliver everything from one-offs, evergreen programs, and full 360-campaigns. Basically, the perfect harmony of a traditional marketer (flawless marketing fundamentals) with a passion for culture and a purpose-fueled hustle.

What You'll Do:

  • Introduce and establish the Happy Money brand as a differentiated disruptor within consumer lending.
  • Lead the development of annual marketing strategy and planning delivering plans that ensure the brand has a meaningful long-term consumer and B2B position that delivers sustainable business growth
  • Own the development of an integrated marketing campaign strategy that translates into powerful, creatively effective, KPI-driven execution plans - including delivering omnichannel comms across the consumer ecosystem (advertising, digital, experience, partnerships). You want to win a Cannes Lion and an Effie.
  • Nurture and develop an exceptional integrated brand marketing team inclusive of B2B, content, social and brand.
  • Operate like an owner with a growth mindset – by managing budget and forecasting, including analysis and detailed metrics between spend and performance, providing recommendations on how best to capture ROI.

Skills and Experience:

  • Led an integrated marketing team. From that experience, you have proven you can flow between strategy and execution, defining and driving vision while executing on the tactical activation, meeting timing, objectives, and budget.
  • Ability to foster connections thinking to challenge teams to not only create amazing campaigns but also think equally about where these campaigns will come to life and how they will live in the eco-systems where consumers play.
  • You have competency and capability with – brand development (launching and scaling), campaign development (data, design, distribution), media-fluent, marketing effectiveness measurement tools (ex: UX research, partnering with marketing analytics, brand health trackers, brand lift studies, attribution models, ROI), digital-first marketing (ex: content marketing, creators, influencers, social), working with external partners (ex: creative agencies, partnerships)
  • Analytical rigor. We are a tech platform within the financial category and are product-led culture. Data is our currency of influence where we embrace an always-on approach to experimentation. This drives you to assess behavior and performance, track and understand the right data, and convert these to insights that lead to further improvement of the organization.
  • As a brand leader, you serve as the champion for all things brand! You have a POV and articulate it with confidence, clarity, and in a compelling manner. You operate as a proactive anticipator who thoughtfully discerns when the situation warrants agility in responsiveness vs reactiveness. You know how to thrive in ambiguity (we are a startup scaling) and are confident in making decisions, and proposing a path forward with available information, even if imperfect.
  • 12+ years of consumer and/or B2B marketing experience w/ 5+ years of managerial experience in integrated marketing.

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Experience with DTC business models with digital products and services
  • Relevant/transferable category experience - banking/lending, insurance, telecom
  • Experience working at a mid-late stage start-up
  • Demonstrated investment in your craft such as having your own brand or business and/or securing your MBA or another relevant advanced degree
