JOB OVERVIEW

 

Outlier Health is currently looking for a talented Sr. Copywriter who is best friends with the alphabet. Someone who pushes good aside for great. Someone who is obsessed with getting into the minds of our prospects and customers. Someone who will be responsible for combining fresh and creative ideas, razor-sharp writing, and high-level persuasion skills to drive engagement and revenue. You'll be working across all customer touchpoints, from box to inbox. Basically, you'll make certain that every piece of written communication captures our brand voice, tone, and spirit.

 

We’re looking for big thinking, big doing, big social campaigns, big sales page copy, and big email campaigns. We want your passion for pushing the envelope, cutting through the plant-based health and wellness clutter to shine in your work and how you present it.

 

We are doing things differently. We are Outliers. And we need our copy, our voice, our brand to reflect that!

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Day-to-day will include:

  • Work with the Director of Digital and CMO to help develop, evolve, and master the tone and voice of the Complement and No Meat Athlete brands.
  • Write crisp, concise, high-converting copy and content for a variety of demand-generation campaigns and CTAs, including promotional and nurture emails.
  • Concept high-impact, on-strategy campaign and project deliverables, which imaginatively bring to life the creative brief and spark engagement with our audiences
  • Performance Advertising Concepting and Copywriting
  • Social Post Copy
  • Packaging Copy
  • Branded Content Copy
  • Native Advertising Copy
  • Write long-form sales letters, landing pages, and video ads for cold traffic.
  • Contribute effectively in concepting brainstorms with teammates, work with media buyers and video editors to create content throughout the sales funnel as needed.
  • Work with the Director of Digital to help implement short and long-term strategic thinking and planning around content strategy.
  • Understand our prospects and customers to their core, manage and run customer surveys, copy mining projects, and any other customer and product-related research.

 

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

Background:

  • Your copywriting skills are more important than your degree(s).
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of performance copywriting experience preferred
  • You can multitask effectively
  • You work well under pressure
  • You’re a conceptual thinker with strong creative chops
  • You can write short stuff, long stuff, and maybe even medium length stuff
  • Strong preference for candidates with DTC health and wellness, and/or CPG ecommerce experience.

 

 

Demonstrated Experience:

  • Track record of translating complex business concepts, audience insights and buyer perspectives into copy and content that drives engagement and lead generation across multiple channels and formats.
  • High level of creative problem solving to develop approaches and executions that result in audience-relevant content that simultaneously supports audience engagement and conversion, differentiated brand positioning and strategic business objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience and know-how for conducting efficient, productive primary and secondary research, interviewing stakeholders and SMEs, and distilling strategically relevant learning and takeaways.
  • Proven ability to collaborate collegially and effectively with other creative colleagues to concept and produce on-brand communications that effectively harmonize copy, design and visuals.

 

Other:

  • Portfolio of relevant work samples for review with application is required (digital portfolio preferred). Samples should have B2C orientation and an underlying context/story that illustrates your conversion-driven marketing thinking, ability and agility.
  • Ideal portfolio: 2 email marketing/nurture campaigns, 4 examples of a longer-form call-to-action asset, a digital advertising campaign or collection of social posts.
